Description

Vrille art actuel is an artist-run center dedicated to promoting contemporary art in Kamouraska through cultural mediation activities, the production of artworks, and their dissemination in public spaces. To achieve this, Vrille focuses on creative residencies in the region and establishes interdisciplinary partnerships that aim to bring artists and different audiences together. The tidal flats of the St. Lawrence River, the community garden in Ville La Pocatière, and the wall ball structure at Collège Sainte-Anne are all sites that have been taken over by contemporary artists.

The residencies lead to mediation activities adapted to the various contexts in which the works are presented: informal gatherings, artist presentations, public readings, round tables, workshops, and more. During its activities, the center uses the Vrille mobile, a mediation unit adapted to different presentation contexts.
