A visit to the Musée de la mémoire vivante (museum of living memory) is an opportunity to discover a unique place dedicated to the knowledge, skills, and life stories gathered from people from all walks of life. Open year-round, it features a constantly evolving intangible collection, accessible to all, and offers three thematic exhibitions in which excerpts from personal accounts serve as a guiding thread.
In 2026, a new permanent exhibition, “Memory: A Collective Heritage,” will highlight seven custodians of traditions and practices that are still very much alive, including storytelling, ice canoeing, maple syrup production, letter-writing, Mid-Lent, and Indigenous dance. Two other exhibitions are dedicated to Philippe Aubert de Gaspé and orchards.
Visitors can explore more than 3,000 testimonials in a dedicated room and enjoy the vast surrounding park: the Innovation Tower, trails, heritage features, gardens, an arboretum, and access to the river. A complete destination for all ages.
